Mistakes of Loosing Weight

I wanted to talk a little bit about my weight loss journey last year and what I did wrong. At the beginning of last year I was very motivated but over the summer I struggled with keeping off the weight I loss to be honest. I have always been a healthy eater and concious about my health in general, but at that particular time and due to stress at work I had some fall outs with my fitness routine. I also ate really badly which lead to gaining back a couple of pounds.

I finally can say that I am back to a healthy routine again, although I still have to work to get where I was before. Here are some mistakes I made that where the reasons for my struggles:

Over-exercising

I never led my body some time to recover and sometimes I worked out 7 days a week. It also lead to some health issues because I got pain in my ankles which was due to over-exercising. I think working out 5 times a week is enough for me. I also cut down the cardio on the treadmill to 40-45 minutes instead of an hour.

No Rest Days

Even the days where I didn't work out where planned out. Now I allow myself to be a little lazy sometimes which is ok, otherwise I would loose my mind pobably ;)

Not Eating Enough

I had the perfect body but still wasn't happy, and I always wondered why since I always wanted to be perfectly thin. The reason was that I didn't eat enough to keep up with my now active lifestyle. It was too much for me sometimes and just for my mood I now try to get in regular meals with enough carbs and proteins.

Private Life

I basically never got out to see my friends because all I focused on were my workouts. So having a social life next to my work and off-work activities is very important for me and my mood as well.

New Year's Resolutions

Ok I have to admit I'm a little late on this but here we go...

  • Learn to Cook
I always wanted to learn it but never really had time to do so. I want to learn all the basic stuff and try out some new recipes.
  • Get in Shape for Summer
Right now I'm doing a challenge with a coworker which is fun bc we always send each other pictures of our fitness routine. I set some goals for the end of February and he holds me accountable for it if I'm not able to go through it.
  • Learn Another Language
Probably French, but I also like Russian lately. If I've got time I want to learn both but we'll see ;)

Things I Learned in 2014


  • Go your own way but also try to listen to people you admire and be open to their advices because sometimes other people see what you don't see.
  • Try to live a balanced lifestyle and make sure you also have time for your friends.
  • Have one day in a week where you are allowed to be a little lazy. If your week was busy & productive, you'll need it. Otherwise you'd go crazy in our society.
  • Be responsible with your money because it makes life so much easier.
  • If you want to make a bigger decision, sometimes it's better to sleep over it.
  • My motto has always been that good things come to good people, so try to be a honest and good person, no matter what life throws you at.
  • Plan ahead, because you can never be too prepared.
  • Be critical and don't believe everything people talk. Some people just want to take advantage of you.
  • Always stay strong, no matter what!
  • Learn from your mistakes but never regret anything, because everything led you to become the person who you are today, which is a good thing.

Best Thing for Acne!



Avéne Triacnèal

This is the best I've ever tried for fighting acne and I have to give it a big shoutout today. It works wonders for me and can clear up my skin within a week. It says you should use it only on the areas where you have acne, but I put it on my whole face before I go to bed, it's ok for me.

Also, drink a lot of water and avoid dairy. These are definitely things that helped my skin to get better as well.

Looking Back on 2014

Not gonna lie, I had a pretty rough year this year. I definitely had to learn some lessons in 2014.

But in my opinion from every negative experience you can gain something positive and sometimes your struggles are the things that make you a better person in the end.

You also appreciate the good times so much more then!

For me, this post put everything in perspective. You need to read the comments, I love them! So if you are ever having a bad moment, believe me there are people in this world who are having it 10x worse then you and they are still able to fight their battles and accomplish their goals.

Little Update

So here's a little update on my challenge I'm doing right now which I posted ealier.

So far I'm doing fine but I just had to do some adjustments. For example I started incorporating more lean meat and fish into my diet just because I felt a little off when I wasn't eating it. I already explained that I tried being vegan a couple if times now but I truly believe that you should listen to your body first and in my opinon not everybody's body is made the same, and while some feel amazing on a vegan diet some won't, as in my case.

I'm still struggeling a little bit with my workouts but that's ok, because I probably need some time to get back. I made the experience that you shouldn't stress yourself out all the time when something isn't perfect yet, just keep working on yourself, even when it needs longer as you expected.
